ORDER INFO

DECEMBER 2009

2009 has been one heck of a crazy year. We've experienced a ton of growing pains over the last twelve months, but we've evolved from a 5'8" pimply-faced high school kid into a 6'5" blue chip recruit! In all seriousness, however, we've learned a lot and grown a lot. We now have two machining facilities that will hopefully improve the turn-around time for our machining. We finally have brought the much sought after 1960-1962 short fin drums to market and have been well received.

We'd like to especially thank those customers that have waited an inordinate amount of time for their orders to be fulfilled. You've all been more forgiving, patient and understanding than we deserved. We simply can not thank you enough for your business and good will.

Now that we have all of the hard work apparently hammered out, we're developing some new advertising and promotional material to expand our visibility. We hope to have our next production run available by May of 2010. We can't wait to see you all next season putting miles on our beautiful big Pontiacs! Thank you so much for your support and Happy Holidays!

Our current run of front and rear drums for 1962 through 1968 full size Pontiacs should be available approximately May 1st. Check our order section for pricing. Pre-orders are being accepted as our first three production runs have sold out. Drop us a note with questions and see you this year!

Fantastic news! We finally have rear drums for our 1963-1968 Full Size Pontiacs! Well, I do anyway! I have just received my sample rear drum from my machining facility and it looks fantastic. I will be spending the next several weeks mounting, testing and perhaps tweaking this beautiful new drum but we can finally say they are here. As of today we have 6 fronts left for 1963-1968 but our next production run is in-progress and should be available by April.

An additional progress report is in order for our 1962 short-fin project. I also received a sample short-fin drum my machining facility created and we have a little ways to go before these are ready. We're off to a great start on these too and hope we're able to include them in this next run. Hang in there '62 Poncho owners. We're working as hard and fast as we can!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

November 30, 2008

Due to the delays we've experienced over the years working with a foundry/machining facility in the area that deals with OEMs ordering parts numbering in the thousands, I've avoided announcing ANYTHING until we actually have it in-hand. This time I'm a little too excited to keep it to myself! We've been working with a new machinist on product development of rear drums for the 1963 - 1968 models and the addition of 1962 short-fin drums, both front and rear! Keep in mind that we are still in the process of creating these items, but we've worked past some engineering hurdles and think we'll have these in my hands for testing in a few weeks.

So many of you have inquired about and have been patient in waiting for the 1963 - 1968 rears and the 1962 short-fins and Arrowhead Components Inc thanks you for your continued interest and patience. While anything can happen at any given time, it looks like we'll finally be able to bring these to market shortly!

August 20th, 2008
The end of summer is just around the corner, but there is plenty of driving left to do! Our new run of 8 lug drums should be in-hand by the end of August. This batch will include our new short-fin drums for you 1962 Full Size Pontiac owners. At the moment, pricing is not available as additional machining is required and the pricing is being hammered out.

Speaking of pricing, although I'm thoroughly disgusted with the tactics used by my foundry, I've momentarily decided to continue using them in spite of their excessive rate increase. The bottom line is they have done excellent work and they are made locally, right here in the USA. The current pricing will remain in effect momentarily but we may find that a slight increase will be needed to keep pace with the new costs passed along to us.

We thank you for your continued interest and are trying to build an inventory of customer cars for our photo gallery. A hearty THANK YOU goes out to our customers in the USA, Belgium, Sweden, Canada and Australia!!!

APRIL 29th, 2008.

Approximately 6 weeks after initiating Arrowhead's usual Spring production run, our foundry/machining facility has hit us with a 35% per unit cost increase completely without warning. What's worse, it comes nearly a month and a half after our order was placed essentially leaving us no time to create a partnership with another foundry/machining facility before the 2008 cruising season. Our hope is this horrendous sucker punch by our foundry can be resolved and we can continue manufacturing these beautiful drums right here in Chicago with no price increase whatsoever.

That being said, Arrowhead Components Inc. has 10 1965-1968 front 8 lug drums left in stock. These drums remain $335/each + UPS Ground shipping. Until we either resolve this unwarranted increase or forge a partnership with another facility, we can not guarantee what future pricing will be nor can we even guess as to when we'll have more available.

Arrowhead Components Inc. is committed to providing these beautiful brake drums with highest possible quality materials and craftsmanship available in the United States. I, like you, am simply an avid Pontiac hobbyist that manages my love of building Pontiacs while supporting a family, mortgage, bills, etc. Creating and manufacturing these drums here in the USA is the only option I'd ever consider and with that comes some unique financial hurdles. My goal from the start has been to keep the cost of these as low as humanly possible and to keep as many Full Size Pontiacs on the road as I can. If that means losing a full season due to a search for another foundry/machining facility that can create the most precise/safe/reliable brake drum, so be it. Thanks for your support and feel free to contact me with any questions!

Although officially incorporated in September 2005, Arrowhead Components, Inc. was essentially created in July of 2004. At that time, a brainstorming session among several business owners in the Pontiac restoration hobby determined that the most conspicuous absence in the field was that of a replacement for the attractive, optional aluminum brake drum available on full size Pontiacs from 1960 to 1968.

That session launched an eight-month long quest for information and specifications to determine viability of re-creating this part. Researching the item required consultations with:

*Manufacturers around the country.

*Design engineers in the automotive and aerospace industry.

*Influential owners of businesses that currently reproduce and market items that cater to the Pontiac restoration industry.

*Instructors from the Cast Metals Institute.

*Members of the American Foundry Society.

*Editor and publisher of Modern Casting.

After exhaustive research, it was determined that not only could this item be reproduced successfully and accurately, but with improvements in engineering and longevity. As a result, Arrowhead Components, Inc. was created in August of 2005 and became officially incorporated in September 2005.

Arrowhead Components, Inc. was created to serve a number of automotive hobbyist needs and interests. Not only will ACI be bringing a replacement aluminum drum to the market for full size Pontiacs wearing the optional 8 lug brake drum, it will also provide additional parts and services to the market that may be of interest to Pontiac enthusiasts.

Currently ACI resin casts a number of unique 1:25th and 1:18th scale items for the automotive modeling community. In addition, John Piotrowski, founder and president of ACI, produces original illustrations for customer project cars in conjunction with FD Customs based in Lowell, IN.

Also, over the next several months and years, many products created for the Grand Prixs built between 1969 and 1972 will be produced. More on those items in the near future.

Arrowhead Components, Inc. looks forward to bringing you parts of the highest quality, made in America, to keep your big and beautiful Pontiacs on the road for decades to come!
